In celebration of National Tequila Day, we crafted this most refreshing spiked milkshake inspired by (and made with) our own Melon Margarita ice cream! It's a unique margarita milkshake mashup that's best enjoyed poolside on a hot Texas summer day... or, to be frank, it'd make an equally good nightcap to sip on in the comfort of your AC while lounging on your coziest couch. For best results, we recommend making this boozy milkshake with our favorite organic tequila, Dulce Vida Blanco Tequila, and some fresh, ripe cantaloupe straight from the farmer's market!

Melon Margarita Milkshake
1 pint Lick Honest Ice Creams Melon Margarita ice cream
1 cup half & half
1/4 cup tequila (we recommend Dulce Vida Blanco Tequila)
1/2 cup frozen cantaloupe, cubed or balled
1/2 tsp salt
Mint Whipped Cream, optional (recipe below)
Scoop ice cream into blender. Add frozen cantaloupe and salt followed by half & half and tequila. Blend on medium until mixture is completely smooth and creamy and there are no visible bits of frozen cantaloupe.
Pour milkshake mixture into your favorite margarita or milkshake glass and top with a dollop of mint whipped cream. Garnish with a spring of fresh mint & enjoy!
Mint Whipped Cream
1 cup heavy cream
2 Tbs sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
Pour heavy cream into a small bowl. Add the chopped mint and stir until the mint is submerged in the heavy cream. Cover bowl with a lid or plastic wrap and let steep in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours
Strain the heavy cream and mint mixture into a small bowl. Add the sugar and vanilla extract and whisk until the mixture thickens and stiff peaks form. Set aside.
